I have to admit I find it intriguing, though I don’t think my planned essays are within the “novel” rules stated on the site (not that they’d ever know). I’m tempted to write something else though, and have signed up for the October 1 alert email.
The guy who started it has a book called “No Plot? No Problem!” if that is any help. Last year’s was timely and cathartic as I vented about the lack of reelected government’s fiscal discipline, laptop dissection, Star Trek captains, vacations, oral favors, stupid-ass interview questions and the mortgage industry. (You don’t want to know.)
I’m thinking that the 30 day insanity is probably just what I need at this point. I’ve got two ideas this year, one of them is a reject from last year, so we’ll see what happens. I know one thing is for certain: I’m not going to any “write in” events. It’s just creepy to me to sit around in a public place and write in a group. I assume this means you’ll be joining the fray again? Will there be cooking utensils involved this year?
Actually, it might be interesting to infuse my philosophical leanings into fictional characters. Never read it, but Zen and the Art of Motocycle Maintenance comes to mind. Hmm…
Yep, just hoping to ratchet up the pressure. No cooking utensils will be harmed in this year’s event. Maybe. Spatulas and sporks are inherently funny.
Maybe I can also ponder “What is Quality?”
yeah, baby! I’m excited about it. I’m on my way to see if I can sign up now.
