I am a Mooney owner, and don't regret a dime I have spent. I'm not in denial either, because I have owned 3 of them over the last 30 years of flying to every state except Hawaii. I have always sold my aircraft for more capital value than I put into them. But of course the variable expenses are going to be slightly higher than renting, but you can't rent the kind of plane I have. I also fly a lot of Angel Flights which are priceless acts of kindness that you can not put a price on. Add the partial use of the aircraft as a business expense, and you can at least break even on aircraft ownership.

You can’t put a value on the pride of aircraft ownership, plus the convenience of being able to go anywhere, anytime you want, and in an aircraft you know has been properly taken care of. AM STILL SOMEWHAT UN-EDUCATED ABOUT THE WHOLE PROCESS, BUT HAVE BEEN UNDER THE MENTOR-SHIP OF A FINE A&P/I.A. HERE AT NEEDLES (KEED). JUST WANT TO SAY THANKS FOR AN ENLIGHTENING VIEW OF AIRCRAFT OWNERSHIP; I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF A BUNCH OF TIMES. GOT ANY MORE, SEND IT MY WAY.BEST REGARDS,
