I just got three of those stupid video poker comment things on my hidden (I thought) NaNoWriMo blog. When I checked the logs, I found out the Wordpress' pinging was still turned on. Everytime I posted an entry, hordes of blog aggregating robots would dutifully ask to syndicate it. Adding metaphoric insult to allegoric injury, the NaNoWriMo blog saw more robot activity than I get on my real blog. So, as perverse as it sounds, I am sort of happy I was video poker spammed this morning. To any of you who have inadvertantly read my 6,200 words of drive-by writing, not to be confused with my drive-by-blogging, I offer my humblest apologies for any long-term trauma caused to you and your loved ones. The NaNoWriMo blog has been re-moved and passworded and pinging is disabled. I've also talked its author off the window ledge, so to speak. (N.B. The Highly-Ironic, Squeezably-soft Ninja and the Chaotic Evil But Still Optimistic Deputy Overlord will end up reconciling their differences in chapter six, but only after a lengthy philosophical discourse on iambic pentameter, how much neo-gloating is too much neo-gloating, and why peaches are furry but oranges are not. The denoument is sure to evoke tears.) In other news, I've received two dozen emails from the world's stupidest spammer. He (or she -- I don't mean to imply all stupid spammers are men, though it's probably a safe bet) appears to be having difficulty configuring his spamming software and, in the process, is persistent in changing a field and sending out another one. We're on attempt #25. The mail is originating from 203.197.81.72, some dial-up line in India. The text of message is below, only because it's kinda funny they haven't gotten that far yet. Any guesses as to the software?
